I live in the Netherlands and I have a upc cable connection of 120Mbit / 10mbit down. Since the last 3 weeks the upload speed dropped from 1 Megabyte per second to 150 kb /s. Livedrive is claiming that they don’t limit their uplink speed but from reading this article is think also that they are limiting the upload.

I too have been with LiveDrive for a number of years and would validate the comments made above.

I’ve also worked in the IT industry for over 18 years so understand the technical difficulties in providing such service. I cannot however continue to trust the reliability, support or platform any longer. The final straw was that it took over 6 days to respond to my latest support request.

LiveDrive are not a professional company and do not provide reliable services you have all been warned, stay well clear.

  • I’ve had huge problems with Livedrive. I was a paying customer for a year before my computer totally crashed. I tried to restore my files from Livedrive to my new PC and found many were simply missing. I then went through weeks and weeks of just not getting any response from them to support questions. You can read all about it on my blog. Until and unless they get their support sorted out, I’d have to say avoid them like the plague.

I have had the same problems described in this blog.

I have had numerous files that were meant to be backed up and I couldn’t download them because they weren’t on their servers. After a number of integrity checks, the software was showing there was no files to upload, even though it wasn’t backed up.

The software for me has been extremely buggy with pretty much every part of it having issues at some point.

As for their support… I waited a whole month to receive a response one time and they had the cheek to claim their support has been improving over the last few months and that the problems were an ‘Isolated Incident’.

My advice would be to avoid them and use something more reliable and better support.

Thanks for sharing your experience too. I guess we now have a real sense that LiveDrive is not a place to spend your hard earned cash!

I’ve had a bad experience with Live Drive customer support recently and feel totally let down by them. Time to change back up company. Useless and unhelpful.

Richard thanks for the comment. This seems to be the norm for Live Drive. I’m using it purely as a free backup service that came with a Dell Laptop purchase from PC World. I do have another backup service too just in case but will not use Live Drive once their free service expires.
